Ramón Rami-Porta, MD, PhD, is the recipient of the 2017 IASLC Merit Award. Dr. Rami-Porta was appointed this year as the Clinical Chief of the Department of Thoracic Surgery at Hospital Universitari Mútua Terrassa, in Terrassa (Barcelona), Spain. He is also a Collaborating Professor of Thoracic Surgery at Escola Universitária Gimbernat, Autonomous University of Barcelona. Dr. Rami-Porta served as Chair of the IASLC Staging and Prognostic Factors Committee from 2009 to 2016 and is the Executive Editor of the second editions of the IASLC Staging Manual in Thoracic Oncology and the IASLC Staging Handbook in Thoracic Oncology, published in 2016.
